Made When Little is built for adults preserving family memories. This policy explains what we collect, why we use it, and when information—including uploaded images—is processed by service providers.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to Made When Little (“MWL,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including madewhenlittle.com and the MWL web application. It does not govern third-party services that have their own privacy policies.
2. Information we collect
Account and profile information
We collect your email address, authentication identifiers, and, if you sign in with Google, basic account information Google makes available with your permission. You may also provide a collection name, tags, preferences, and other settings.
Family content
We store content you choose to add, such as photographs, processed images, thumbnails, titles, dates, tags, and voice recordings. This may include a child’s image, voice, artwork, possessions, or other family memories.
Billing information
A third-party payment processor handles subscription payments and may provide us with customer, subscription, transaction status, and limited payment-method details. We do not receive or store your complete payment-card number.
Usage and device information
We and our providers may collect IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages visited, interactions, performance data, error information, and similar technical data through cookies, local storage, logs, and related technologies.
Session replay
Within the authenticated application, an analytics provider may record a visual reconstruction of interactions to help us understand use and diagnose problems. We configure replay to mask most text inputs and exclude creation media from capture. Collection names and some interface text may appear. Because masking technology is not infallible, do not enter sensitive information where it is not requested.
3. How we use information
- provide, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot MWL;
- authenticate you and associate collections with your account;
- store, organize, display, edit, and delete content at your direction;
- remove image backgrounds and suggest titles;
- process subscriptions and provide billing support;
- measure performance and improve usability;
- prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and
- comply with law and protect users, rights, and MWL.
4. Image processing and AI
When you add or replace an image, it may be transmitted to specialized service providers to provide the features you requested:
- A background-removal provider receives the image to remove its background.
- An AI title-generation provider receives the image and title-generation instructions to suggest a title.
These providers process information under contractual terms and their own privacy commitments. Provider processing and retention practices may differ by service. Do not upload content you do not have permission to share with these processors.
5. When we disclose information
We disclose information to providers that help operate MWL:

We may also disclose information to professional advisers; to authorities or others when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our Terms, prevent harm, or protect rights; and in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use family content for targeted advertising.
6. Children’s privacy
MWL is intended for adults and does not permit children to create accounts. We recognize that adults may upload content about children. The account holder is responsible for deciding what to upload and for having the authority and any legally required consent to do so.
If you believe a child provided information directly to us without appropriate adult involvement, contact privacy@madewhenlittle.com so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, analytics, and performance. Browser settings may allow you to block or delete them, but essential features may stop working. We do not currently use this information to serve targeted advertisements.
8. Retention and deletion
We generally retain account information and content while your account is active or as needed to provide MWL. When you delete a creation, we remove it from active use, although residual copies may remain temporarily in backups, caches, logs, or systems maintained for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information by emailing us. We may retain limited information when required or permitted by law and may retain aggregated or de-identified information that can no longer reasonably identify you.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Protect your email account and sign-in links, and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.
10. International processing
We and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. Where required, providers use recognized safeguards for international transfers.
11. Your choices and rights
You can change collection settings and delete individual creations in MWL. Depending on where you live, you may ask us to access, correct, delete, or provide a copy of personal information, or object to or restrict certain processing. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Submit requests to privacy@madewhenlittle.com. You may also have the right to appeal our response or complain to your local privacy regulator.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as MWL and the law evolve. We will update the effective date and, when a change is material, provide reasonable notice through MWL or by email.
